The Engineers Reuse Collective : launched!
The first of its kind, the collective is supported by the Institution of Structural Engineers.
Associate director Robert Mills said: “As we look to the future of our industry, it’s clear that fostering a culture of transparency and knowledge-sharing is essential. By joining the Engineers Reuse Collective, we’re uniting our top engineering practices with a shared goal of driving positive system change.”
The climate crisis is here and as engineers we need to accelerate our actions to transition our built environment to zero carbon. Through knowledge-sharing, roadmap production, advocacy and collaboration, we’re working to remove barriers and push for industry-wide adoption of the circular economy.
The built environment industry contributes around 25% of the UK’s carbon emissions, with embodied carbon making up a significant portion of this figure. By championing reuse and circular economy principles, tERC aims to drastically reduce carbon emissions while promoting sustainable practices across the sector.
Could your company be our next member? We’re looking for additional engineering practices to join the movement and help shape the future of sustainable construction. If you’re passionate about making a positive impact and accelerating the transition to Net Zero, reach out to the collective lead to get involved …
