Additional storey to Grade II listed building in central London
The Grade II listed office building at 2 Soho Square in the City of Westminster was in a state of disrepair. The existing structure needed to be strengthened and restored, keeping to its original state where possible.
As structural engineer for the light touch refurbishment, we took the building and created more space as well as easier access.
An additional storey was created through the addition of a lightweight timber structure at roof level, along with a new glazed lift shaft at the rear.
