Talgarth Road student accommodation tops out

March 2024
Whitby Wood’s engineers turned out this week for the topping out ceremony at 181 Talgarth Road — a purpose-built student accommodation development designed by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners for Dominus, creating 600 student homes in West London.

Dominus and contractor HG Construction were joined by Cllr Stephen Cowan, Leader of Hammersmith & Fulham Council, and representatives from the project team, to celebrate the milestone and the progress on site to date. The 16-storey PBSA scheme is the second and final phase of development at Talgarth Road.

Associate Thomas Gresham commented, “We worked with delivery architect Axiom, Dominus and HG Construction on the delivery of a 5-10 storey hotel scheme on the neighbouring site — and it’s been fantastic working with this partnership again.”

Whitby Wood provided structural, civil and geotechnical engineering, plus asset protection services for third party negotiations — the site is bisected by a Thames Water main sewer and bounded to the south by Transport for London rail lines.
