He says, “I am continuously looking for ways that can make the company more efficient, creating new tools, interfaces, apps or visual effects, to make ‘impossible’ things possible, or to automate tedious tasks.”
He champions sustainability too, saying, “A big interest of mine is joining the discussions around sustainable design and the way we report our carbon footprint and overall environmental impact of our buildings. I created a plugin for Revit to calculate embodied carbon with one click of a button.”
David is dedicated to exploring new ways of visualising BIM models and using them to best serve the requirements of the project. He knows well-managed BIM processes and models are key to taking a project from concept to completion. He applies this ethos by using his BIM co-ordination work and digital creativity to complete tasks faster and more accurately.
Sharing knowledge is important to him. He is constantly exploring innovative processes and techniques to refine his talents. He believes success lies in clear and accurate communications, and the appropriate technical skills required to produce the relevant models and drawings.
However, he reveals a particular interest in restoration and reuse when he says, “I’ve worked most passionately on refurbishments, from large scale offices and hotels to the smallest of residential properties.”
David relishes working in collaboration with project teams, clients, architects, contractors and other stakeholders. His knowledge and expertise are put to good use in refurbishment, new build, residential, leisure, commercial and civil engineering infrastructure schemes.
His notable current projects include a number of large-scale international confidential concept schemes, and competition entries. London residential developments include Cannon Hill Lane in Wimbledon, Mortgramit Square in Woolwich and Sedgemere Road in Abbey Wood. Outside London, they include Mountbatten House refurbishment in Basingstoke and The Dunard Centre in Edinburgh.
