Jordan Parchment

MEng CEng MICE
ASSOCIATE, UK

Associate Jordan Parchment excels at taking the holistic view, analysing potential pitfalls and developing innovative and cost effective solutions. A technically confident and extremely capable designer, he is experienced in delivering complex structural solutions across a range of sectors.

Whether working individually or leading a team, he says, “I like to think on my feet as much as at a desk.”

He believes in providing the best ultimate outcome for all parties to a project and is adept at liaising with contractors, site teams and multidisciplinary design teams. He relishes engineering challenges and finding the best option for a given problem. He’s motivated by seeing schemes he’s involved with “coming to fruition and helping people by contributing to their needs but also their enjoyment.”

Jordan designs primarily in RC and steel for new builds, often for specialised technical applications such as strengthening or upgrading existing frames. His wide-ranging expertise covers refurbishment, strengthening detailing, and vibration design in vibration isolation for user comfort and structural safety. He also enjoys mentoring and training less experienced engineers, delivering yearly technical standards training and also leading on equality, diversity and inclusion.

Jordan’s favourite projects are the ones that are difficult but dissimilar — he loves variety. His experience in the residential, commercial and industrial sectors comprises engineering reviewer for data centres, designing public buildings and structures, high-end large scale developments, masterplanning and taking a CMT role on site.

His most notable projects are One Ashley Road mixed-use scheme for two towers and a podium on a constrained site over rail tunnels at Tottenham Hale, London, The Dunard Centre world class performance space under construction on a ‘land locked’ site in Edinburgh, and the award-winning Rafter Walk at Canada Dock in London, including the public realm development.
