The AR Future Projects Awards celebrate as-yet incomplete projects and “the potential for positive contribution to communities, neighbourhoods and urban landscapes around the world”. The Anthony Timberlands Center for Design & Materials Innovation. to give it its full name, will be an extension to the Fay Jones School of Architecture & Design at the University of Arkansas, and a home for applied research into timber and its use in construction. Congratulations also to The Phoenix project team, winners in the Regeneration and Masterplanning category — Periscope, Human Nature and Kathryn Firth (Arup) for Human Nature, with Whitby Wood as executive engineer. The Phoenix is a new sustainable neighbourhood for Lewes, East Sussex, UK.
