CTBUH 2023 International Conference

October 2023
Whitby Wood’s Head of Sustainability Kelly Harrison, Whitby Wood Mills’ managing director Shonn Mills and Whitby Wood Pritamdasani managing director Mukesh Pritamdasani will be in Singapore for the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) 2023 International Conference (16-21 October). Kelly will present at a session and Shonn will take part in a panel discussion.

The theme of the conference is Humanizing High Density—People, Nature & the Urban Realm. CTBUH states that it will advance the premise that high-density urbanization can support healthy living, working, and civic and social engagement. Major topics will be issues of livability, the ongoing discourse about future cities and an exploration of solutions for the major challenges, such as equity in housing, creating better social spaces, reducing carbon emissions, climate change and striking a balance in development that is appropriate for local environmental and social conditions.

Kelly will present in the session The Second Life of Towers: Adaptive Resuse and Repositioning, and Shonn, who is a Trustee of the CTBUH and Chair of the conference Steering Committee, will take part in Smart Technology and Livability: A Necessary Partnership in our Dense Habitat.

The CTBUH is the world’s leading nonprofit organisation developing solutions and best practice for sustainable urbanism. In September, the CTBUH announced that Shonn Mills was appointed Board Chairman. His appointment will be formalised at a Board of Trustees meeting taking place at the conference.
