Rafter Walk wins bridge award
The judges found the scheme to be a “High impact destination structure, making an impressive visual statement, practically and intimately enhancing biodiversity and the natural environment, providing significant community benefit, with a strong commitment to technical innovation and integrating past, present and future needs.”

Whitby Wood associate director Gioele Nunziatini said, “This was a very special project to work on. The level of detailing, fabrication and execution onsite is of a remarkable quality, and it is rewarding to see the bridge now being used by the local community.”

The award was accepted by (second from left, to right) Jordan Parchment, Chris Murray, Martin Self, Pablo Santamaria Varela and Scott Lewis on behalf of the project team …
