DIRECTOR, INDIA
Mayur’s association with our engineers is a long one. He’s often worked with Mukesh Pritamdasani, managing director of Whitby Wood India, and joined our Mumbai office in 2017. His flair for innovation, and embracing new assignments and environments, is reflected by his involvement with projects in the UK, India, Scandinavia, Kenya and Dubai — though he thinks London might be his favourite city.
He welcomes challenges, relishes solving problems, takes a holistic view of building design and excels at working in a multidisciplinary global industry. His portfolio covers residential, commercial, educational and industrial buildings, pharmaceutical plants and healthcare facilities.
Mayur is known for his proactive and honest approach, motivational and communication skills, and ability to form strong working relationships with colleagues, clients, sub-consultants, contractors and statutory authorities to ensure seamless operations. He’s also a keen planner, project managing and co-ordinating construction activities, while focusing on utilisation of resources and compliance with the relevant Indian Standards, British Standards and Eurocodes.
In India, where most projects are fast-track and often constructed in seismic zones, Mayur developed a range of options for building high-rise schemes in concrete, steel and precast materials. He led the engineering design of the Amazon campus at Hyderabad, worked on a township for KPO-Tata Steel in Odisha, as well as industrial complexes for Pepsi, Frito Lay, Procter & Gamble and Hoechst.
“I fell into engineering” Mayur says, “my father is a civil engineer, so I knew what it was about early on.” Not surprisingly, he enjoys the process of calculation and structural design, but he loves visiting sites and watching the buildings going up, especially in his home city of Mumbai. Away from work, he likes watching movies and playing cricket.
