Trained in the UK, Chris has led multi-disciplinary design teams in the realisation of projects in a broad range of sectors, including residential, commercial, education, hotels + leisure, aviation and rail. He is particularly interested in solving the challenges posed in the redevelopment of inner city sites, where existing structures and infrastructure are a factor. Projects undertaken before he joined Whitby Wood include inner city high rise structures, buildings with deep basements, and the design of shafts for a section of Crossrail (London’s major new underground rail line, currently under construction).
He is also focused on developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and other project team members, and sees the smooth delivery of projects as an effective way of achieving this. His approach combines an appreciation of the joint effort it requires to realise a project, enjoyment in the process, and his skills in designing structures that are as efficient as possible and deliver the aesthetic and financial outcomes required.
Chris mentors graduate engineers who are looking to achieve Chartership in the UK.
