Taking a building back to first principles and planning an efficient structural scheme is bound to be fun — a new commercial building brought just such a chance our way.
We are very happy to announce that engineer Tuan Huynh-Quoc has joined Whitby Wood as an associate.

Bridport Place Project: Whitby Wood are structural, geotechnical and civil engineers for the Fraser Brown Mackenna led Bridport place, a ten storey residential scheme for Metropolitan Housing Group. The site, which has remained undeveloped since World War 2, has some interesting challenges including its location as a tight corner plot with numerous deep, ageing Thames Water assets on the northern and southern boundaries. We were appointed post planning which has led to challenging engineering solutions to provide transfer, including spun columns and cantilevering transfer walls, without increasing the overall height of the building. The project is currently on site and due to complete in 2020
